So I’m driving to work this morning and listening to the new NOW Radio in Edmonton.  Great station actually.  If you’re between 21 and 40.  Seriously.

The question that Crash and Mars were asking was “If you could do anything and knew you could not be caught, what would you do?”

And I hatch this plan.  I couldn’t resist calling it in.  Here’s the call. Press play to hear me and the hosts tossing it around.

Truth be told, if I went into full stealth mode I wouldn’t be caught anyway.  This would just guarantee it. ;)

Yep.  It’s done.  Practically irreversible.

I KNOW there are a bunch of you reading this thinking “What could DOUG have possibly done that would be unthinkable!?”

Let me eliminate a few things.

I didn’t buy a Ford vehicle.

I did NOT have a vasectomy.  (I know some of da boys were thinking of that one!)

I did not skip bacon this morning at breakfast cuz I’m worried about cholesterol.

I did not turn my back on Ninjutsu in favor of a weenie martial art.

Far more drastic.

Far more life changing.

Judy doesn’t like my categories. We’re sitting here and she says “Can I make a minor criticism?”.

I’m a big boy. I can take it. So I say “Sure”.

“Your categories aren’t very ‘ordered’.”

Wounded. Cut to the core. Right in the heart.

Actually, nah. In fact, it’s pretty deliberate that I’ve set it up this way.

Yep. They’re a bit more intuitive than ordered. But here are two tips that might help, if you’re really needing some more “order”.

Hover your mouse over each of the categories and you should see a brief description of that category. That should clarify what the category is all about.

Second, squished between the posts and the category column, you’ll see a big list/jumble/mass of words. Some are bigger than others. That means those topics are most popular. In the web world, that list/jumble/mass is called a “tag cloud”. Find the topic you’re interested in and click on it. That will bring up all the posts in that topic. Cool huh?

I hope that helps a bit! Sorry for the lack of “order”, if it’s been an issue for you. Doesn’t it seem like life’s kinda messy too?

Yeah.

Love ya.

So I’m walking down the school hallway today, saying hello to my excellent high school friends, when one of my favorites, Jared, (I tell all of them that) catches my eye.

“Doug!  So, are you still doing blog posts?”

He says it with a bit of a chiding grin.

“Yeah buddy!  Absolutely.  In fact, you have to check out the latest post.  I have figured out what the world needs.”

We banter a bit.

Then he says “Hey, if you ever see TLDR in your comments section, it means Too Long – Didn’t Read!”

Thanks Jared.

I’m taking that as a subtle hint from my most excellent high school friend.

Lol!

I’m in L.A.

I rode a shuttle last night from LAX to our hotel.

It was dark.

I could barely make out the lights of downtown skyscrapers.

Why?

Smog.

I exercised this morning.

I got my heart rate up to 169 bpm’s.

I breathed harder.

I breathed in more smog than if I had laid in bed an hour longer.

I may have just shortened my life by exercising.  In L.A.
